Mildred Juanita “Stick” Williams was born in Alexandria, La on August 17, 1929 and departed this life on February 8, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Harry Jones Sr. and Augusta Maine “Gussie” Jackson. They proceeded her in death along with all of her siblings; Harry Jones, Jr., Thomas C. Jones, Sr., Edward L. Jones, Harvey P. Jones, Sr., and Rubye Lee Jones LaRoche.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Jessie Bob “Sanga Boo” Williams Sr. on January 28, 1946 and to this union three children were born, Mildred Ann Williams, Jessie Bob Williams, and Karl Michael Williams who have all proceeded her in death.
“Stick” as she was affectionately called was educated in Rapides Parish and attended Peabody High School. She retired after 30 years of service from Peabody High School where served thousands of students. There was never a time where she was not thanked or hugged for always feeding and giving the students extra food. Her love for service extended to her church True Vine Missionary Baptist Church were she served faithfully as a Deaconess.
Mildred leaves four grandchildren to cherish her memory; Kimberly M. Springs, Danika M. Williams- Cobb (Marcus), Kar’Laini N. Williams-Moore (Wellington), and Jesse Bob Williams III and four great-grandchildren; Shayla V. Reed, Jailan M. Jackson, De’Anthony K. Davis, and Timson C. Walker, a loving and devoted daughter in-law JoAnn Williams, and one god-son, Brian Keith LaRoche; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
