Loretta Mae Dubreuil Metoyer was born September 22, 1927, to the late Lafayette Dubreuil and Loretta Metoyer Dubreuil in Montrose, Louisiana. She departed this life in the late hours of December 10, 2019. She was 92 years young. Loretta became a member of Historical St. Augustine (Isle Brevelle ) Catholic Church through baptism on November 5, 1927. She soon became a devout member of St. James Memorial Catholic Church and remained until her passing. She attended Catholic school in the elementary years. She married the love of her life at age 18 on January 16, 1946. They celebrated 72 years of marriage; to this union eight children were born. Loretta was employed at St. Rita’s Catholic Church Rectory as a housekeeper and cook for Rev. Msgr. Joseph Suzi until she retired with 25 years. However, she continued to work at his private residence until 2006. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Audrie Metoyer, Sr., two sons: Audrie Metoyer, Jr. and Joseph Metoyer, four sisters: Delores Sullivan, Catherine Hawkins, Betty Jane Cheek, Willie Beatrice Dubreuil, and three brothers: Rudolph (Rudy) Dubreuil, Sr., Ronald Lee Dubrevil, and Larry Dubreuil. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her four daughters: Patricia Ann Offord (Bobby) and Janice Metoyer Kirklin of Alexandria; Debra Metoyer of Beaumont, Texas, Sharon Jones (Emeal) of Alexandria; two sons: Bruce Metoyer, Sr. (Dana) of Houma, Louisiana, and Johnny Metoyer, Sr. (Sandra) of Alexandria; 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, a host of beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
